Julia Wanted to Interview… ME. The Cuteness!

People, Julia read the interview I did with *her* for this blog, and then asked if she could reverse the roles and interview me. For anyone who is new here, Julia is my 10 year old who is in the 4th grade. I will admit that I melted to the floor in a puddle of mom goo, BECAUSE I AM A HUMAN WOMAN WHO BIRTHED THIS CHILD. Of course I said yes! Here it is – Julia wrote the entire thing, typing it into a Google Doc like an old pro (thanks pandemic, thanks remote learning, no seriously – this is amazing THANK YOU). Note: I did not edit or change or word.

Interview with my Mom!

“Do you think you would ever get married again?”

Mama: Jumping right in, are we? I’m not ready yet but I could change my mind.

Julia: I have asked my mom about this before and it’s always “maybe” which I fully understand. Some people like to experience being married once and then never again which I think is the case with my mom.

Mama: Yes, yes yes. Once you’re married once, you realize how big it is and you think twice about doing it again. Over time, my stance is softening, though! I used to answer this question with a hard no.

“How do you see yourself as a person?”

Mama: I am pretty cool, I am fun and feisty, independent, and strong. I am still growing and learning who I am, and I don’t think that stops as I get older. I love my kids, my pets, my house, and my partner, Brett.

Julia: I think this is very accurate and It makes me happy to see my mom confident about herself.

“What mistakes did you make in life that you don’t want me to do?”

Mama: The biggest one is I didn’t have any self esteem. I thought i was ugly, non fun and fat, I thought no one liked me. And I was wrong and i didnt realize that until I was in New York with my best friends, so it took a while.

Julia: I think self esteem is a difficult thing to have because we see models who have “perfect” bodys and skin but that’s not accurate. It’s ok to have acne and scars etc. and having a stomach is normal and people can eat whatever they want to eat. And many people struggle with having confidence and it’s not easy but I hope those people can someday notice that they are beautiful!

“If you could change anything in your life right now what would it be?”

Mama: I would enjoy living somewhere more sunny, because the weather here in the Seattle area affects my mood.

Julia: I agree Seattle is disgustang! (yes I meant to spell it like that.)

Mama: HAHAHAHA

“What are your hobbies?”

Mama: I like to read, garden, I like social media (specifically Tik Tok), and I like to write!

Julia: this is very accurate ahha mama is a d d i c t e d to tik tok

BYE YALL!
