I don’t know about all of y’all, but this pandemic took my world of friendships and shook it up like a snow globe. People scattered, some moved to other states while others just holed up in their houses and shut themselves away, not answering texts and disappearing from social media. I did the opposite – I poured myself into social media, making new friends and re-bonding with others. This next guest is someone who I bumped into online a lot. I’d known her for a few years through our kids’ Girl Scout troop, but I got to know her much better through the book of faces.
The Questions…
What’s your name?
Tiffany: Tiffany Nance aka Momboss or Pirate Wench depending on the time of day or how much rum I’ve had to drink.
Emily: Oh, we’re off to a good start. RUM AND PIRATES!
Tiffany: Hahahaha!! Well, really you can never go wrong when you have rum in hand, and pirate gaming is just an added bonus.
How would you identify yourself to someone who doesn’t know you?
Tiffany: I’m Italian, need I say more? I love deeply and I’m passionate about every aspect of my life. My fiery personality sometimes comes across as harsh but really it always comes from a place of love. You will always get the truth from me, never have to guess what I’m thinking, and I will always be straight-forward and honest,
Emily: I remember a Girl Scout meeting where you told the previous years’ cookie mom what was what, and I might have had to turn my video off because of my giggling. You don’t mess around.
Tiffany: That’s the truth right there. You’ll either love me or leave me, but you will always know where I stand and what I’m thinking. Life is too short for drama.
Appearance-wise it means I’m brown. Brown eyes, brown hair, brown skin. I often wonder if the people with fierce blue eyes ever get tired of hearing “oh my god, your eyes are soooo beautiful!!” Must be exhausting.
Emily: Hahahahaha, now that you mention it, I SEE THE ITALIAN IN YOU. Your olive skin and brown hair and eyes are very Italian. I have been with some of those blue-eyed people, and yes, it feels deeply unfair that their eyes generally have flecks of hazel and green and are so fucking BLUE. But listen, you and I both have tits for days so BRING IT.
Tiffany: There are days when I would trade my tits for a pair of those baby blues or even some green eyes….can you imagine?! Green eyes and olive skin?! Damn! It’s fine – I’ll keep my tits. They suit me.
The Book of Faces…
You have quite a presence on Facebook, and I love the community of people who read and comment on your posts. They feel incredibly supportive. I have noticed that your presence has changed over the past few years. Why?
Tiffany: You are spot on. In the past three years, things have changed a lot with my business and with my presence on social media. Also, thanks for noticing! love you for that!
Emily: Seeing you all sudsed up in a shower pic will catch a person’s eye, Tiffany. HA!
A business opportunity
Tiffany: Soooo many women lose themselves in motherhood. I hear the struggles, the stories, and the pain. It’s a process. The part I don’t get is that if you want to change it, then you should change it. There are options!
That’s where my good friend Kacie came into play. Kacie had a side hustle and was killing it. I was watching her from the sidelines, lurking really. I wasn’t interested in the business as much as the product she was selling. I’m a product junkie. Do you know this about me? Sorta like you, Emily, I love to try all sorts of new products.
Emily: I did NOT know this. And I do like to try new products because I’m always looking for that miracle in a bottle.
Tiffany: Well, ya know we have one product….it’s an oil and we call it Magic Oil. No shit. That’s not its real name, but those of us who use it daily call it magic because it works so well. Anyways, Kacie raved about the shampoo, conditioner, and this dry shampoo she was selling. I ordered the dry shampoo. I’m skeptical by nature, so the dry shampoo was all I wanted.
Emily: Well, you can’t leave me hanging. What is the magic oil?
Tiffany: Bwah ha ha, I hooked you. You can try the oil. I think it would do wonders for your hair and skin.
Emily: Phew!
Tiffany: I always joke that it started with dry shampoo. Not only was the dry shampoo amaze-balls but it turns out the whole fucking line of products does great things for your hair. Who knew?! So I bought it all. I’m 41 and I have better hair now than I did when I was 20.
The next natural step was to link arms with my friend Kacie, in business. I thought I would just get the products at a discount. What I didn’t see coming was this shift in me. By linking arms with Kacie, I gained incredible leadership and a supportive team. It is truly amazing what happens to your self-worth, confidence, and willingness to be the best version of yourself when you have people behind you cheering you on every step of the way.
Emily: I love that. It is so true that the people you work with can make all the difference when it comes to enjoying what you do. And for you, it took you on a whole new life path.
Tiffany: So, yes my life changed dramatically when I started on this new team, Million Hair Club. Yup, that’s what our team is called. Why?! Because each of us has the potential to take our business to whatever level we want. The sky is the limit and everyday we show up for each other to help, support, and encourage so that we can be the best version of ourselves.
Being an online presence isn’t always easy. Putting everything out there regularly can be rough, so I make sure I fill my cup daily with gratitude and set my intentions. Doing this helps me to show up every single day.
Emily: Welp, I’d say you’re showing up…. see pic below. HAHA! STAY TUNED FOR PART TWO WHERE WE GET EVEN MORE PERSONAL. 🙂
